8.45 – 9.00 Families are welcomed and key workers liaise with parents. 12.30 – 12.45 Children complete self-registration. Our library is available every Wednesday.
9.00 - 9.05 The Tambourine indicates to the children that it is 'Flapper Time'. 12.45 - 12.50 This is a fun, active mathematics intervention which helps children to understand and apply the key principles of number. 9.05 – 9.20 Group Learning Time. 12.50 - 1.05 The children are taught objectives taken from the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum in their small key groups. For younger children these sessions are active and repetitive, building on what they already know. Our Pre-School children are really challenged with higher level thinking skills during this time.
9.20 - 9.30 Snack Time 1.05 - 1.15 This is a sociable occasion as children sit with their small groups to eat a healthy snack together. Through this the children develop manners and extend their speaking skills.
9.30 - 11.15 Free-Flow Environment 1.15 - 2.45 Lot's of amazing learning takes place throughout a nursery session in many forms.... In The Moment Planning: Practitioners skillfully support, extend and challenge children's learning as they interact with them in the environment following their individual needs and interests Some children access our 'Nest' provision (see environment for more information) Targeted Learning Plans and Speech & Language Plans are carried out. 'Focus' activities are completed with our Pre-School children to motivate, excite and challenge them and their ways of thinking. 11 -15- 11.25 Tidy up Time 2.45 - 2.55 Children are encouraged to tidy up together as they learn to show respect and care for our nursery environment. 11.25 - 11.30 Singing Time 2.55 - 3.00 Our younger children come together for a fun, active singing song. Jelly on a Plate with real jelly is a favourite! 11.30 - 11.45 Story, reflection, songs and celebrations 3.00 - 3.30 Children come back together in their small groups for a focused story time (please see reading section for more information).
