Outreach

At Duke Street Children's Centre we have a very dedicated and proactive outreach staff team.

The team will make home visits to work with you and your children to ensure services from the centre are brought to you so that all children have the same opportunites.

We work in a number of satellite venues which means a place that we work with families away from the Children's Centre, such as, Yarrow Valley Park at Birkacre, Cotswold Supported Housing at Cotswold House,  as well as our "Children's Centre on Tour" which is currently taking place at All Saints' Primary School, St Gregory's Primary School and also at Duke Street Primary School.

If you requrie support from an Outreach Worker, you will be given a named worker.  You can self-refer or you can be referred to the centre by any professional that is currently working with you by them asking for a request for services sheet.

The type of work the the Outreach Team cover is Child Protection and Safeguarding children, Parenting Support, facilitating parenting courses such as Positive Parenting and Surviving Teenagers.  We support and work in partnership with our health colleagues Midwives and Health Visitors, GP's CAMHS and Speech and Language professionals, and we link into local primary schools offering the same service to families that may not come to the centre.

When an outreach worker assesses that you need specialist support, they will signpost you on to another agency and support you with appointments and transport as well as emergency childcare provision if it is needed and funding is available.
