Registered Childminders are required to use The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, which was mandatory from September 2008. The EYFS sets the standards for all Early Years practitioners for learning, development and care of children from birth to five years. It replaces the Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage, Birth to Three Matters Framework and the National Standards for Under-8’s for daycare and Childminding.
